it's
always reminding me
love
there is only one love
it comes in
many
disguises
it comes openly in the holding
of my partner's
hand
or flamboyantly in an embrace
from a friend
it comes
when i'm not looking
kind words from a women in
a tweed
skirt.
and most of all it comes from
lessons learned
from an
angry father calling
out for love
a racist neighbor
who
comes still
to me
with pink roses
for my birthday.
and
thats when i melt
give way and expand - into
more of who i'm
meant to
be
thats when my shackles
fall, my blinkers recede
a
little bit more
