all about love

it's always reminding me
love
there is only one love
it comes in many
disguises
it comes openly in the holding
of my partner's hand
or flamboyantly in an embrace
from a friend
it comes when i'm not looking
kind words from a women in
a tweed skirt.
and most of all it comes from
lessons learned
from an angry father calling
out for love
a racist neighbor
who comes still
to me
with pink roses
for my birthday.

and thats when i melt
give way and expand - into
more of who i'm meant to
be
thats when my shackles
fall, my blinkers recede
a little bit more

love - its not a new age quote - really is all around me and especially in the times that challenge me and then, its back to gratitude with love.
